Temperature Quilts
|
PowerPoint Slide Show Presentation
1 hour I have always admired artists and creative souls who have shared their fresh starts; their daily practices; their yearlong commitments. Whether that be a personal transformation with lifestyle and exercise changes or more creative rituals such as art journals, stitch meditations or a temperature quilt. Blogs and social media posts, Pinterest and internet searches are full of creative ways that motivate and inspire this renewal. Temperature Quilts have been trending in online quilting communities the last few years. These fun and unique quilts are a great way to celebrate a special or ordinary year. The idea of a Temperature Quilt is to document the temperature of each day in a quilt block. A temperature gauge is created with corresponding fabric colours. Document the high and low temperature of each day in a block and at the end of the year, you have a quilt depicting temperature variations through the year. Many, many variations of this unique quilt can be done –abnormal weather, special dates, how about noting your emotion of the day? This lecture will introduce you to the wonderful world of Temperature Quilts and you’ll want to start yours immediately! |
